Transferring to TENET

If you are transferring to TENET's electrical curriculum, the courses you will be expected to take depends on which academic year you will be entering at the time of transfer.

 

TENET does not awarded transfer credit to students transferring into our curriculum. Apprentices will be expected to compile and present all certificates of completion from TENET and any other educational institution to the appropriate electrical board at the time he/she is making application to take the electrical licensing exam.

 

 The following is a curriculum breakdown of a typical transfer by year:

 

- Year Two - Students transferring to TENET in their 2nd year should pursue the following course of study:

2nd year - Electricity II, Commercial and Industrial Wiring(90 hours) & Transformers(60)

3rd year - Motors(60), Controls I(60) & Controls II(60)*

4th year - Controls II(60), Electronics(60) & National Electrical Code(65)

*Controls II, is part of both years three and four.

 

- Year Three - Students transferring to TENET in their 3rd year have two options for the 4th year:

3rd year - Transformers(60 hours), Motors(60) & Controls I*(60)

4th year - Controls I(60), Controls II(60) & National Electrical Code(65)

or - Controls I(60), Electronics(60) & National Electrical Code(65)

*Controls I, is part of both years three and four.

 

- Year Four - Students transferring to TENET in their 4th year have three course of study options:

4th year - Controls I(60 hours), Controls II(60) & National Electrical Code(65)

or - Controls I(60), Electronics(60) & National Electrical Code(65)

or - Controls II(60), Electronics(60) & National Electrical Code(65)
